The DOLE's Labor Communications Office
Pursuant to the 22-item agenda of President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III on labor and employment and consistent with the Department's thrust to effectively communicate to DOLE clients and the general public the programs, projects, policies, and existing services of the Department, the Information and Publication Service (IPS) was renamed as Labor Communications Office (LCO) to emphasize the increased role of the said office.
Under Department Order No. 105, Series of 2010, the LCO is directly under the supervision of the Office of the Secretary. It reports to the DOLE Secretary all matters pertinent to its operation. It coordinates with the communication offices within the Department, including regional offices, bureaus, attached agencies, and Philippine Overseas Labor Offices with regards to reports to be developed into stories for dissemination to the public and media consumption.
Below are the functions of the LCO;

Below are the functions of the LCO;
- production and dissemination of news releases;
- monitoring of print, broadcast (TV and Radio) and online labor and employment-related news;
- coverage of DOLE events and activities of the DOLE Secretary and other officials;
- media relations (interviews, media briefing, and press conferences);
- production of IEC materials;
- provision of public information service and referral assistance;
- maintenance of feedback/quick response mechanism;
- maintenance and supervision of DOLE Call Center; and
- maintenance and operation of DOLE Library.
